Standards referenced on this site
ANSI MH30.1-2022 addresses dock levelers and dock leveling devices. ANSI MH30.2-2022 addresses portable dock leveling devices. ANSI MH30.3-2022 addresses vehicle restraining devices. These are design, testing, and utilization references; listing one does not determine that equipment complies or that a facility is in violation.
Indiana's adopted fire rules call for annual inspection and testing of sliding and rolling fire doors, with a written record retained for the fire code official. Confirm the currently adopted edition and requirement through the IDHS adopted-rules source. Report a dropped door and produce the record; do not improvise a reset or self-perform a drop test.
Records a provider may ask for
- Equipment type, bay or door number, brand, model, and serial information when safely visible.
- What changed, when it last worked, fault display or visible condition, and any open problem not resolved by prior work.
- Capacity markings and operating labels for dockboards, levelers, or restraints.
- Recent work orders, inspection notes, lockout information, and controls or electrical work tied to the request.
- For a fire door, the last annual inspection-and-test record and what the assembly did.
